Winter
South Korea experiences quite cold temperatures. The average temperature in January, the coldest month, is around 0°C (32°F) in the southern coastal areas. However, in the northern and inland regions, temperatures can drop to around -3.5°C (25°F). During cold spells, temperatures can even fall to -20°C (-4°F) in Seoul and northern areas, and around -10°C (14°F) in the southern regions
Summer
South Korea’s summer, running from June to August, is characterized by hot and humid weather. Daytime temperatures typically range from 25°C to 35°C (77°F to 95°F), with high humidity making it feel even warmer. This season also features the monsoon period, known as Jangma, which brings heavy rainfall, especially in late June and July. Despite the heat and humidity, it’s a vibrant time of year with lush landscapes and numerous festivals.
Autumn
Autumn in Seoul, spanning from September to November, is a beautiful and pleasant season. The weather is mild, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), making it perfect for outdoor activities. The city’s parks and mountains burst into vibrant colors as the leaves change to shades of red, orange, and yellow. It’s also a time for various festivals and events, celebrating the harvest season and cultural traditions.
Spring
Spring in Seoul, from March to May, is truly enchanting. The weather is mild, with temperatures typically ranging from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F). The city comes alive with cherry blossoms and various flowers in full bloom, creating picturesque scenes along streets, parks, and riverbanks. It’s also a popular time for festivals and outdoor activities, as residents and visitors alike enjoy the fresh, rejuvenating atmosphere.
